General Visa and Passport Information
Passport
Any foreign visitor who wishes to enter Japan must have a passport, which will remain valid during the period of stay.
Japanese Visa
Nationals of many countries are eligible to enter Japan without a visa unless the purpose of the visit is to reside in Japan, to obtain employment or to otherwise engage in remunerative activities. Please check the following websites to check whether your country has "Reciprocal Visa Exemption Arrangements" with Japan. Please note that participants who need a visa should apply immediately to the consular office or embassy of Japan in their country in order to avoid inconvenience.

Invitation Letter
If you need us to send you an invitation letter, please follow the directions below.
*The workshop will not issue the invitation letter for any accompanying person.
If you are participants who simply require an ELECTRONIC VERSION of the official invitation letter issued by the workshop, send us your information in the Invitation Letter Request Form by email at "depworkshop2013[at]flsi.or.jp".
The request form must be submitted by February 15, 2013. After our inspection of the form, we will send the PDF file of the invitation letter with SCANNED signature of the conference general chair to your email address. Please note that the procedure usually takes a few weeks.
If you require an original signed invitation letter sent by post or if you need additional documents except the electronic ones, indicate all the necessary information on the Invitation Letter Request Form and contact us by email by February 15, 2013. After inspection of the form, the original invitation letter and other documents, if any, will be sent to you by Express Mail (with delivery to most destinations worldwide in 5-7 business days). The procedures usually take a several weeks, so please keep enough time before applying.
The workshop does not take any responsibilities for any troubles if the Invitation Letter Request Form is turned in after the above date.
